Captain America: Stars & Stripped is a playful adult interpretation of the iconic patriotic superhero, combining classic comic-book imagery with my long-running exploration of the male figure.

Captain America stands directly before the viewer with his familiar blue mask, wing details, white star, red gloves, and patriotic red, white, and blue palette. But this version of the hero has clearly lost a few important pieces of his famous uniform.

His costume appears to dissolve across his powerful chest and torso, exposing his muscular physique before disappearing completely below the waist. The contrast between recognizable superhero elements and complete frontal nudity turns the traditionally heroic image into something humorous, provocative, and unapologetically adult.

The figure's relaxed smile adds to the playful character of the painting. Rather than appearing embarrassed by his missing uniform, this Captain seems perfectly comfortable showing the viewer an entirely different kind of American pride.

Created with acrylic and ink, Captain America: Stars & Stripped combines bold graphic outlines, exaggerated muscular anatomy, vivid primary colors, and expressive brushwork. The glowing yellow and white background creates an almost heroic aura around the figure, while the strong red, white, and blue details immediately draw the eye to the superhero inspiration.
